This British Standard specifies requirements for the manufacture and testing and certain dimensions of metal-bodied planes of the following types:

adjustable bench planes, comprising smoothing planes, jack planes, jointer planes, etc.;

adjustable bench rabbet planes;

adjustable circular planes;

adjustable (cut and lateral) block planes;

adjustable (cut only) block planes;

non-adjustable block planes;

cabinet makers’ adjustable rabbet planes;

duplex adjustable rabbet and fillister planes;

side rabbet planes.

Specifies features affecting the functioning and life of metal-bodied planes and relates to the manufacture and testing.
