This part of BS 8462 specifies requirements for both socketed and free-standing goals intended for youth football !(i.e. nine- and eleven-a-side)”, futsal, mini-soccer and small-sided football (i.e. five-, six- and seven-a-side football).

It is applicable to goals used for training and competition in indoor arenas and sports halls, and to outdoor sports facilities.

It does not apply to eleven-a-side adult (full-size) football goals that fall within the scope of BS EN 748.

NOTE A specification for full-size football goals is given in BS EN 748:2004.
