Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1<\/span> This specification covers the composition and physical properties of polyimide foam insulation with nominal densities from 1.0 lb\/ft3<\/sup> to 8.0 lb\/ft3<\/sup>\u2009(16 kg\/m3<\/sup> to 128 kg\/m3<\/sup>) and intended for use as thermal and sound-isolating insulation for temperatures from \u2212423\u00b0F to +600\u00b0F (\u2212253\u00b0C to +316\u00b0C) in commercial and industrial environments.<\/p>\n

1.1.1<\/span> The annex shall apply to this specification for marine applications.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.1.2<\/span> This standard is designed as a material specification and not a design document.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.1.3<\/span> The values stated in Table 1<\/span> and Table 2<\/span> are not to be used as design values. It is the buyer\u2019s responsibility to specify design requirements and obtain supporting documentation from the material supplier.<\/p>\n
