Through the CSA Technical Committee on Information Technology (TCIT), Canadians serve as the Canadian Advisory Committee (CAC) on ISO\/IEC Joint Technical Committee 1 on Information Technology (ISO\/IEC JTC1) for the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), the ISO member body for Canada and sponsor of the Canadian National Committee of the IEC. Also, as a member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Canada participates in the International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee (ITU-T).<\/p>\n<p>This Standard supersedes CAN\/CSA-ISO\/IEC TR 18047-3-05 (adoption of ISO\/IEC TR 18047-3:2004). At the time of publication, ISO\/IEC TR 18047-3:2011 is available from ISO and IEC in English only.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This part of ISO\/IEC TR 18047 defines test methods for determining the conformance of radio frequency identification devices (tags and interrogators) for item management with the specifications given in ISO\/IEC 18000-3, but does not apply to the testing of conformity with regulatory or similar requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The test methods require only that the mandatory functions, and any optional functions which are implemented, be verified.
