It may also be applied to municipal equipment (e. g. street-sweeping machines). This part of ISO 25119 specifies the characteristics and categories required of SRP\/CS for carrying out their safety-related functions. This part of ISO 25119 is applicable to the safety-related parts of electrical\/electronic\/programmable electronic systems (E\/E\/PES), as these relate to mechatronic systems. It does not specify which safety-related functions or performance levels are to be used for particular machines. It covers the possible hazards caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E\/E\/PES safety-related systems, including interaction of these systems.
