This Part of BS 6859 specifies requirements for mobile general operating tables with non-transferable tops of four or more sections. Mobile operating tables intended for use with specialist procedures and accessories to tables are outside the scope of this Part of BS 6859, except that dimensions for accessory clamps have been specified to ensure interchangeability of accessories between tables.

Requirements for operating tables with non-transferable tops of four or more sections. Also includes requirements for dimensions of accessory clamps to facilitate interchangeability between tables and accessories.
