Cooling towers can become sources of airborne pathogens, particularly legionella. The owner is obliged to minimise the risk afforded by the operation of such installations. This standard provides guidance for the hygienically sound operation of large-scale natural draught cooling towers. The standard applies to existing and new cooling towers.
