La présente Norme internationale spécifie une méthode d'essai en boucle ouverte pour déterminer les réactions du
véhicule pendant une manoeuvre de freinage en ligne droite sur une surface à coefficients d'adhérence différents.
Elle s'applique aux voitures particulières, telles que définies dans l'ISO 3833.
La méthode est applicable à toutes les forces de freinage jusqu'au fonctionnement en régime permanent de l'ABS,
pour les véhicules qui en sont équipés, ou juste avant la limite de blocage des roues sur la surface à haut
coefficient d'adhérence, pour les véhicules sans ABS.
