This Standard specifies the stainless steel tubes (hereafter referred to as "tubes") used for exchanging heat between the inside and outside of the tube, such as super-heater tubes of boilers, and heat exchanger tubes, condenser tubes and catalysis tubes, etc. used in chemical and petroleum industries.
It is not applicable to heating furnace tubes.
This Standard is generally applicable to tubes of outside diameters 15.9 mm to 139.8 mm.
In addition to the items specified in this main text, the purchaser can designate special quality requirements by previous agreement with the manufacturer and U-bend tubes, which are shown in Annex JA and Annex JB, respectively.
