1.1 These test methods cover the measurement of fabric mass per unit area (weight) and is applicable to most fabrics.<\/p>\n

1.2 There are four approved options:<\/p>\n

1.2.1 Option A<\/span><\/span> Full Piece, Roll, Bolt or Cut (Section 7).<\/p>\n

1.2.2 Option B<\/span><\/span> Full Width Sample (Section 8).<\/p>\n

1.2.3 Option C<\/span><\/span> Small Swatch of Fabric (Section 9).<\/p>\n

1.2.4 Option D<\/span><\/span> Narrow Fabrics (Section 10).<\/p>\n

1.3 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.<\/p>\n
