{"id":690364,"date":"2024-11-06T05:21:52","date_gmt":"2024-11-06T05:21:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/tia-102-baca-b2012\/"},"modified":"2024-11-06T05:21:52","modified_gmt":"2024-11-06T05:21:52","slug":"tia-102-baca-b2012","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/tia\/tia-102-baca-b2012\/","title":{"rendered":"TIA-102.BACA-B:2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This document provides a detailed specification of the messages<br \/>\nand procedures required between RFSSs within a given LMR system,<br \/>\nand across LMR systems, in order to provide mandatory voice<br \/>\nservices and SU mobility management.<\/p>\n<p>This document focuses on protocol and message support<br \/>\nrequirements for the upper layers of the ISSI Internet Protocol<br \/>\nSuite (the Network Layer and above), and does not address the lower<br \/>\nlayers (corresponding to the Physical and Data Link Layers of the<br \/>\nOSI Protocol Reference Model).<\/p>\n<p>This document describes the architecture, protocol suite,<br \/>\nmessages, parameters, state models, and procedures to support the<br \/>\nfollowing services among RFSSs over the ISSI:<\/p>\n<p>Voice services:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Group voice service for both confirmed and unconfirmed group<br \/>\ncalls<\/li>\n<li>SU-to-SU voice service for both direct calls and calls<br \/>\nrequiring prior RF availability check<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mobility management functions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mobile SU registration<\/li>\n<li>Mobile SU tracking<\/li>\n<li>Group affiliation by mobile SUs and consoles<\/li>\n<li>Group tracking<\/li>\n<li>Authentication credential distribution<sup>2<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>SNDCP Context registration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note that mobility management provides functionality to support<br \/>\nvoice, supplementary data, and packet data services.<\/p>\n<p>Optional ISSI support functions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>RFSS service capability polling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In certain scenarios, the Serving RFSS needs to determine an<br \/>\nSU&#039;s Home RFSS ID and unique IP address. This is done based on the<br \/>\nWACN ID and System ID of the SUID as sent by the SU in the Unit<br \/>\nRegistration Request (U_REG_REQ in <strong>[102AABC]<\/strong>)<br \/>\nduring registration. The process by which the Serving RFSS obtains<br \/>\nthis information is implementation-dependent, and therefore not<br \/>\ndocumented in this or other ISSI standards.<\/p>\n<p>Conceptual models that define primitives and states MAY be<br \/>\nutilized to describe TIA-102 interface protocols. The primitive<br \/>\nexchanges and state transitions described by these models are to<br \/>\nillustrate a conceptual design for a stack that implements the<br \/>\nprotocol and are informative. The boundaries defined by conceptual<br \/>\nmodels are internal protocol stack layer boundaries defined to<br \/>\nclarify the protocol description and are not testable<br \/>\nboundaries.<\/p>\n<p>Trunked and conventional operational details for these services<br \/>\nand functions might differ <strong>[T102]<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This document specifies ISSI which enables mobile SU and<br \/>\nwireline console participation in trunked voice and mobility<br \/>\nmanagement services.<\/p>\n<p>Network configuration, network engineering, and<br \/>\nmanufacturer-dependent implementation details are beyond the scope<br \/>\nof this document.<\/p>\n<p>The use of &#034;p25&#034; (or &#034;P25&#034;) in a domain name, a radical name, a<br \/>\nparameter, an ABNF rule name (e.g., &#034;p25-conditon-code&#034;), or a<br \/>\nliteral text string (e.g., &#034;X-TIAP25- HalfRate&#034;) in TIA-102 ISSI<br \/>\nmessages and procedures throughout this document does not indicate<br \/>\nsuch uses are limited to Project 25 implementations<br \/>\nexclusively.<\/p>\n<p><sup>2<\/sup> Until such time as ISSI security services are<br \/>\nstandardized, the protection of the Authentication credentials<br \/>\nwhile traversing the ISSI is outside the scope of the ISSI.
