This British Standard specifies the classification, construction, operation, safety requirements and tests for lighting appliances intended for domestic use with butane gas at 11 in. w.g. pressure.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE 1. This gas is a mixture consisting predominantly of C<sub>4<\/sub> hydrocarbons with some Ca hydrocarbons and small amounts of C<sub>5<\/sub> hydrocarbons. However, the distributors of the gas are able to supply gas whose combustion characteristics are always within the limits prescribed by the test gases defined in Clause 29.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE 2.
