{"id":692307,"date":"2024-11-06T05:29:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-06T05:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/tia-eia-455-2242002\/"},"modified":"2024-11-06T05:29:00","modified_gmt":"2024-11-06T05:29:00","slug":"tia-eia-455-2242002","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/tia\/tia-eia-455-2242002\/","title":{"rendered":"TIA\/EIA-455-224:2002"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This International Standard provides standard procedures for the<br \/>\ncalibration of optical fibre chromatic dispersion (CD) test sets.<br \/>\nIt also provides procedures to perform calibration checking on CD<br \/>\ntest sets whereby an extension to the test set calibration period<br \/>\nmay be obtained.<\/p>\n<p>This standard is applicable to all types of CD test sets, with<br \/>\nthe exception that measurements on multimode optical fibres are<br \/>\nexcluded.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this standard is to define a standard procedure<br \/>\nfor calibrating optical fibre chromatic dispersion (CD) test sets.<br \/>\nThe detailed calibration steps used vary according to the<br \/>\nmeasurement technique used in the CD test set.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst it is acknowledged that chromatic dispersion also occurs<br \/>\nin multimode fibre and this fibre may be measured on many CD test<br \/>\nsets, this standard will restrict discussion to single mode fibre<br \/>\nmeasurements only.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the procedures outlined in this standard is to<br \/>\nfocus manufacturers and users of CD test sets toward the reduction<br \/>\nof measurement uncertainty in chromatic dispersion determination in<br \/>\noptical fibres under all applicable conditions.
