All these cables are for fixed installation where there is no free movement of cable, except for stresses due to typical service.<\/p>\n<p>This European Standard will be applied in conjunction with the relevant product and installation standards. Stricter requirements than those given in this standard could be necessary; see in particular EN&nbsp;50343.<\/p>\n<p>This European Standard is not applicable to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>intercarriage jumpers;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>cables subject to continual flexing;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>pantograph cables;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>coaxial, data and fibre optic cables;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>wire wrap;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>cables rated at voltages greater than 3,6\/6&nbsp;kV;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>applications other than the cabling of railway rolling stock;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>cables requiring circuit integrity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Legal or statutory requirements do take precedence over the guidance given in this document.<\/p>\n<p>In cases where no guidance exists or where it cannot be derived from general information, it is recommended that advice be sought from the cable manufacturer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Railway applications.
