Modification of Clause 1 to replace with the following:<\/title> <\/p>\n<p>This <\/p>\n<p>standard<\/p>\n<p>part of ISO\/IEC 80079<\/p>\n<p> specifies the requirements for the design and construction of non-electrical equipment, intended for use in explosive atmospheres, protected by the types of protection constructional safety \u201cc\u201d, control of ignition source \u201cb\u201d and liquid immersion \u201ck\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This <\/p>\n<p>standard<\/p>\n<p>part of ISO\/IEC 80079<\/p>\n<p> supplements and modifies the requirements in <\/p>\n<p>ISO<\/p>\n<p>UL<\/p>\n<p> 80079-36. Where a requirement of this standard conflicts with the requirement of <\/p>\n<p>ISO<\/p>\n<p>UL<\/p>\n<p> 80079-36 the requirement of this standard takes precedence.<\/p>\n<p>Types of Protection \u201cc\u201d, \u201ck\u201d and \u201cb\u201d are not applicable for Group I, EPL Ma <\/p>\n<p>without additional protective precautions<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>The types of ignition protection described in the standard can be used either on their own or in combination with each other to meet the requirements for equipment of <\/p>\n<p>Group I,<\/p>\n<p> Group II, and Group III depending on the ignition hazard assessment in <\/p>\n<p>ISO<\/p>\n<p>UL<\/p>\n<p> 80079-36.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Where references are made to IEC and ISO standards, the referenced requirements found in these standards shall apply as modified by any applicable US National Differences for that standard (see clause 2).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>NOTE In the US, the authority having jurisdiction for underground mines is the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) of the federal government.
